Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not:
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing:
Isaiah 35: 3, 4 (to:), 5, 6 (to:)
Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered.
Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew.

These quotations come from the current Bible Lesson on “Substance.” This week’s Sunday services at the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston and branch churches worldwide will focus on this Lesson.
One aspect of true substance discussed in the Lesson is health and wholeness. The quotation from Science & Health provides insight into the Bible passage and elucidates why the healings related in the Bible were possible at that time and remain possible today.

ReadingRoomBuzz: Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort, and Jesus
By Elaine Ratliff
The last of the Harry Potter movie series opened this weekend, and now that Harry and Lord Voldemort have finally met in the long anticipated battle of life and death, good and evil, light and darkness, we have to wonder if there is anything from Harry’s wizard world of make-believe that applies to our very ordinary muggle lives to resolve the issues of good and evil that we face every day. While Harry resolved issues of getting lost, making mistakes, being afraid, facing the unknown, and even death itself through magic, that’s all fiction. What can WE face all those issues with—and triumph?
This week’s Buzz links you to a wonderful answer from Warren Huff, the director of Cedars Camps in Lebanon, Missouri. Cedars is a summer camp for Christian Science kids, as well as a conference center for adult activities throughout the year. Metaphysical articles about the Christian Science Bible Lesson are posted on the Cedars website weekly. “Life—and the Deathly Hallows” is the title of Warren’s bonus article following last week’s Bible Lesson on Life.
“As entertaining as Harry Potter’s fictional feats of wizardry are, they don’t compare to all the real life wonders performed by Jesus in ‘the greatest story ever told,’” he writes. While Jesus’ works are even more amazing than Harry’s, Christian Science shows them to be repeatable by all of us.
